Yet again terrorists to violence in an attempt to intimidate the Turkish people, and pressure the Turkish government.
After the terrible suicide bombing that claimed the lives of young Turkish and Kurdish activists, this week there have been a number of terrorist attacks against police and military targets. The PKK has claimed responsibility for these attacks which took place before Turkey decided to launch an offensive against ISIS and PKK positions in Syria. In response, the Turkish military and police have undertaken a wide ranging operation against terrorists and sympathisers within Turkey’s borders.
In these attacks many Turkish security personnel have lost their lives.
These operations have the unequivocal support of the US, and NATO. As the US spokesperson said on this issue: Turkey has the right to defend itself.
ATA-A condemns the PKK, ISIS and their sympathisers for attempting to ferment instability and terror within the Republic of Turkey. On behalf of all Turkish-Australians, we extend our deepest sympathies to the families of the victims of these deadly terror attacks.
